MWIA Courtesy Call to Chief Secretary of MPC
On 7th April 2023, MWIA paid a courtesy call to the Chief Secretary of Ministry Plantation and Commodity, Yg Bhg Datuk Zurinah Pawanteh in her office at Putrajaya. Among the issues discussed were the challenges faced by the industry such as the EU Deforestation Free Regulation, MTIB review on their regulation, Government support for industrial tree plantation (ITP) and also to explore the potential of carbon market for the timber industry.
Representatives led by MWIA president Mr Goh, paid a courtesy call to YBhg. Datuk Zurinah [middle], and in presence of En. Wan Ahmad Asmady, Senior Secretary of Timber, Tobacco and Kenaf Industries Development Division [far right], to discuss about current challenges faced by timber industry.
