MWIA visit to Meranti Tembaga plantation in Kuala Lipis
On the 28th June 2024, a group of 32 MWIA members led by MWIA President Mr. Ng Kay Yip, visited a plantation in Kuala Lipis by invitation from Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Lim Sing. The plantation is planted with Meranti Tembaga (Shorea leprosula), which is propagated through seed germination using locally collected seeds from the forest floor. During the visit, the group also toured the nursery where propagation and acclimatization processes take place. This experience likely provided valuable insights into sustainable forestry practices and the cultivation of native species.
